Description
Buduruwagala Temple
On your way to Udawalawe National Park you can visit the Buduruwagala Temple. You have to deviate only 4km from the main road but it is worth to visit this temple.
The complex consists of seven rock carved statues which has the Mahayana Buddhist style
You can also see the Buduruwagala Lake and spot some birds too.
Do not forget to visit the Buduruwagala Archaeological Museum which has archaeological objects found in the Uva-Wellassa area.
The Udawalawe Elephant Transfer Home
The Udawalawe Elephant Transfer Home is operated by Department of Wildlife in Sri Lanka. The objective of this facility to provide the welfare and conservation of orphaned baby elephants until they are released to the jungle.
You can see how these little babies are fed four times a day at 9 AM, 12 PM,3 PM, 6 PM. This is a popular attraction among tourists
